Designing the Series
The e-Series began in 2010 when Anne and Carole began some conversations with Steve Hargadon about providing free webinars in an Elluminate virtual room for educators in schools, community learning centres, TAFEs and Universities. The concept grew out of a perceived need for cross-fertilisation of ideas, strategies and achievements of educators in each of those disciplines.
Our early webinars were prepared, moderated and facilitated by Anne and Carole with some emphasis on teaching about e-learning tools.

Carole says:
On looking back at this collection I see a focus on the popular tools of the time, such as blogging, podcasting, tweeting and networking. During this period we began to invite 'presenters' to come along and talk about their tools of choice in these domains.
Remembering the way in which the group dynamics in the webinars developed during 2011, the learning was invaluable. We learned that the best and most frequented webinars were those that enabled plenty of interaction among the participants and provided clear instructions and demonstrations by the presenters.
